Three screens in the snug, one in the dining room for matches the card room will tolerate. We set volume by the nearest party and check before we turn it up. After 10pm the sound comes off, captions go on, and the card room gets its hush.
Match-day service is unhurried. Haggis bonbons, a pie and a half of Caledonian 80/-, or a plate of Scottish cheese. The snug seats fourteen comfortably; eight more can drift through from the front room.

Final round on the big screen with a light Sunday menu.
Breakfast mains between the formation lap and the start. Big screen, timing on the smaller.
Same weekends, one screen dedicated. Kick-offs split to allow both.

A Six Nations afternoon in the snug with a pie and a half of Caledonian — as neatly arranged a Saturday as I have found. The volume is kept sane and the person next to you is usually as invested as you are.DERMOT · Rugby regular · Dunedin Road
Every Wimbledon fortnight I watch here. The tea is proper, the viewing angle works, and between points the people around you talk in complete sentences.BEATRIX · Tennis enthusiast · New Town
